Number of Tesla Model 3s rental car major Hertz will buy in a bid to power up its electric offerings. The car-rental company ordered its first battery-powered vehicles in 2011, and one fifth of its fleet will need to be charged, rather than refuelled, when this order is completed in 2022. Tesla’s share price was given a jolt after the news was announced in Oct 2021.

Number of electric vehicles rental car major Hertz will purchase from Swedish electric car maker Polestar over the next five years. Both the companies announced the decision on 04 Apr 2022. Hertz plans to order the compact Polestar 2, one of the EV company's two vehicles currently on the market. Availability is expected to begin in Spring 2022 in Europe and late 2022 in North America and Australia.

Avis Budget Group Inc. shares soared 218% to the highest level ever amid a flurry of retail-crazed trading, after top executives said the car rental company will play a big role in the adoption of electric vehicles in the U.S. Avis did not disclose either the number of EVs it would buy of by when.
