Distance a Bar tailed godwit flies during its annual migration. Its migration is the longest known non-stop flight of any bird and also the longest journey without pausing to feed by any animal. They have been recorded to travel this distance from Alaska to New Zealand in only 8 days, flying at an average of more than 50 km/h.
