Harangi Dam. At 88.00% of its full capacity of 2,407 million litres, compared to 93.88% at the same time last year. Inflow on 01 Oct: 625 cusecs. Outflow on 01 Oct: 1,650 cusecs. The reservoir which is one of the major tourist attractions in Kodagu district. It provides irrigation facility to 1.34 lakh acres of farmland. The right bank canals irrigate lands in Kodagu district, Periyapattana, Hunsur and KR Nagar taluks of Mysuru district while the left bank irrigates land in Arkalgud taluk of Hassan district.

Hemavathi Dam (aka Gorur Dam). At 98.92% of its full capacity of 10,506 million litres, compared to 80.11% at the same time last year. Inflow on 01 Oct: 2,172 cusecs. Outflow on 01 Oct: 3,225 cusecs. Hemavathi reservoir is the lifeline of Hassan, Tumakuru, and parts of the Mandya districts. Over 3 lakh acres of land is irrigated by the Hemavathi project. Hassan is entitled to 5,097 million litres, Tumakuru 7,050 million litres and Mandya 1,585 million litres.

Krishna Raja Sagara (KRS) Dam. At 96.52% of its full capacity of 14,003 million litres, compared to 69.87% at the same time last year. Inflow on 01 Oct: 5,969 cusecs. Outflow on 01 Oct: 7,029 cusecs. For the first time in 10 years that the water level has stood at 100 ft during May. Above normal rainfall in the catchment areas of Kodagu in March-April has resulted in steady flow of water to the Dam and the level is maintained despite regular water release to the lower riparian States. With the water level at the Dam standing at 100 ft, the cities of Mysuru and Bengaluru have escaped drinking water crisis this summer.

Kabini Dam. At 95.29% of its full capacity of 5,527 million litres, compared to 86.89% at the same time last year. Inflow on 01 Oct: 874 cusecs. Outflow on 01 Oct: 1,550 cusecs. Kabini Dam has maintained a healthy water level, enabling the residents of areas formed by Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA) to heave a sigh of relief. The farmers are also happy as in the coming days, water will be released from both the KRS and the Kabini to help irrigate the standing crops in the tail-end regions. Mysuru is dependent on the KRS and Kabini reservoirs for its drinking water requirements and the water level in the reservoirs so far is higher than what it was during the same time in the last 10 years.

Bhadra Dam. At 98.06% of its full capacity of 20,258 million litres, compared to 97.72% at the same time last year. Inflow on 01 Oct: 2,831 cusecs. Outflow on 01 Oct: 2,661 cusecs. Located near Lakkavalli in Tarikere taluk of Chikkamagaluru. A multiple purpose dam, it irrigates about 105,570 hectares of land in Shivamogga, Chikkamagaluru and Davangere districts, supports power generation of 39 MW and provides 169,900 million litres of domestic drinking water annually. It has reached the full reservoir level 4 years in a row.

Outflow on 01 Oct: 16,543 cusecs. 13 Jul: Incessant rain in Sangli, Satara and Kolhapur has led to rise in water levels in Krishna river basin and Koyna catchment areas. Maharashtra state govt has requested its neighbouring Karnataka to ensure higher water discharge from Almatti dam to avert floods in Sangli, Satara and Kolhapur districts in Western Maharashtra.
