    Coal based generation capacity shut down or converted across India in fiscal year 2021-22. In all 12 units in 5 plants were shut down. During the same period, 4,485 MW of new capacity has been added.

    Unit-3 of BOKARO `B` TPS retired from central sector of Eastern Region in Apr 2021.
  • 460 MW
    Unit-1 to 6 (4*60 MW + 2*110 MW = 460 MW) of TALCHER (OLD) TPS retired from central sector of Eastern Region in Apr 2021.
  • 210 MW
    Unit-7 of KORADI TPS retired from state sector of Maharashtra in Sep 2021.
  • 60 MW
    Unit 1 of Bandel TPS retired from state sector of West Bengal in Mar 2022.
  • 180 MW
    Units 1, 2 and 3 of Kolaghat TPS retired from state sector of West Bengal in Mar 2022.
