माजलगाव / Majalgaon Dam - Beed. At 100.00% of its full capacity of 311,340 million litres, compared to 99.00% at the same time last year. The dam supplies drinking water to Beed and Majalgaon among other nearby areas. If the live storage goes above 30%, water is used to 93,885 hectares of land in Majalgaon and Parli talukas in Beed district, Gangakhed and Sonpeth in Parbhnai district and few areas in Nanded district. Tertiary purpose is to supply water to the thermal power station at Parli. First overflow of the season at 3 am on 06 Sep. 10 gates were opened on the morning of 06 Sep after heavy rains took the water stock to 100% from 69% a day earlier, according to Sectional Engineer GN Sinare. 28 Sep: The local administration opened 11 gates of the dam early Tuesday morning, resulting in the discharge of 80,534 cusec.
