पैठण / Jayakwadi Dam - Paithan, Aurangabad. At 98% of its live capacity of 2,170,000 million litres, compared to 100% at the same time last year. 18 of the 27 gates have been opened. Since Sept 5, steady increase in gates and volume of water being released downstream from the Jayakwadi, has resulted in the Godavari river swelling up. Water level in the dam has stayed above 98% since Sept 6, even after the water release.
The dam is the primary source of water supply for the region’s major industries in Aurangabad and Jalna, as well as to nearly 2.5 lakh hectares of farmland.

माजलगाव / Majalgaon Dam - Beed. At 98% of its live capacity of 311,000 million litres, compared to 0% at the same time last year. The dam supplies drinking water to Beed and Majalgaon among other nearby areas. If the live storage goes above 30%, water is used to 93,885 hectares of land in Majalgaon and Parli talukas in Beed district, Gangakhed and Sonpeth in Parbhnai district and few areas in Nanded district. Tertiary purpose is to supply water to the thermal power station at Parli.
