Reduction in sewage discharge into Korattur and Ambattur lakes - 2 major water bodies in Chennai's western suburbs. The decrease in flow of industrial effluents could probably be due to the closure of industrial units around the lake owing to the lockdown. However, the lake was receiving domestic sewage from surrounding localities.

Increase in dissolved oxygen (DO) levels in the Vatrak to Vautha stretch of the Sabarmati river. This stretch ranks 7th on the list of most river stretches in the country. Other stretches of the river has shown remarkable increase in DO levels, to the point where the river could support life. For years, the Vasna-Narol sewage flow of the municipal corporation, a concoction of municipal and industrial toxic waste, had been robbing the river of its DO.

The TDS (Total Dissolved Solids) level of Beas water at all the 10 locations of monitoring. According to WHO, TDS level less than 300 mg/liter is considered as excellent. According to Dr. S S Marwaha, chairman Punjab Pollution Control Board (PPCB), Beas remains cleanest in the state and has shown further improvement in water quality in April. Water quality of river Beas remains ‘B’ category at all the locations in the month of March and April.
