Delhi govt declares Corona virus an epidemic and advises people to exercise abundant caution to contain the disease. All cinema halls, schools, colleges in Delhi instructed to be shut until 31 Mar, however ongoing exams will continue as scheduled. People advised to stay away from public gatherings.

Sports gatherings including IPL prohibited in Delhi. दिल्ली सरकार ने कोरोना के फैलाव को रोकने के लिए सभी sports gatherings (including IPL), बड़े सेमिनार, कोंफ़्रेंस आदि के आयोजन पर पाबंदी लगा दी है. सभी DM, SDM अपने क्षेत्रों में कोरोना सम्बन्धी आदेशों के पालन पर निगरानी रखेंगे.

Number of rooms in 3 premier hotels in Aerocity near Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport set aside to quarantine international visitors if needed. New Delhi District Magistrate Tanvi Garg issued the orders under the Delhi Epidemic Diseases, COVID – 19 Regulations, 2020, after detailed consultations with the authorities of the three hotels. The IBIS will have to set aside 92 rooms, The Lemon Tree Premier 54 and Red Fox 36 rooms. The per day rate of the rooms have been capped at Rs 3,100 (plus taxes), which includes breakfast, lunch, dinner; two bottles of mineral water per day; tea and coffee and other facilities such as WiFi and TV.

Extraordinary times call for extraordinary measures. Delhi goes under lockdown starting 6 AM until 31 Mar. Certain exceptions have been made to ensure essential items are available for purchase and basic services continue to operate.
