Number of large capacity sewage treatment plants (STPs) constructed or planned in the city.

Capacity of sewage treatment of the Bhandewadi Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) in Nagpur. The project was jointly developed by Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) and MAHAGENCO. Entire treated waste water is supplied to MAHAGENCO's 1,980 MW Koradi Thermal Power Station.

Planned capacity of a 3rd STP that will be taken up by VIL either by extending its existing 200 MLD facility or building a new facility. The proposed plant is likely to be commissioned by 2020. The capacity extension has been made possible because of a commitment made by National Thermal Power Station (NTPC) to procure 150 MLD. This was confirmed by NMC executive engineer Aniruddha Chauganjkar and deputy engineer Rajesh Dupare to TOI in Jan 2019.

Awarded to the city for Sewerage and Septage Management project by Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, Government of India, under the AMRUT initiative.
