Solar lamp distribution among school children in India

Students of Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS) were provided with solar lamps by Dr. P. V. Ramesh, CMD, Rural Electrification Corporation Ltd. at a programme on April 20, 2017. The solar lamps were given away by Rural Electrification Corporation as a part of its CSR activities.

Meghalaya Government had announced in Oct 2016, it would be distributing solar lamps to school students in the hope that they would turn “Green ambassadors.” Chief Minister Mukul Sangma informed that initially class IX and X students have been chosen, to whom these solar lamps would be distributed for free.
