Groundbreaking ceremony attended by Lily D’Ambrosio MP, Minister for Industry, Energy and Resources, Dan Tehan MP, Member for Wannon, Victoria, Paul Hooper, Mayor of Ararat and Stuart Liddell, General Manager of AWF as they each broke the first ground at the site of Turbine No. 1.

Arrival of the 2 purpose built transformers on site.

First foundation for turbine completed.

The GE blades, manufactured in and shipped from Brazil arrive in Portland, Victoria.

Turbines trucked up the Pyrenees Highway into Ararat. For each of the Wind Farm’s 75 turbines a prime mover carrying 3 blades was accompanied by 12 pilot vehicles.

Premier Daniel Andrews welcomed the first blade at site. The blade shipment weighed-in at over 2,000 tonnes and consisted of 225, 50-metre long turbine blades.

11 of 75 turbines erected.

Ararat begins to generate electricity! 25 of the wind farm’s 75 turbines are now fully commissioned and generating an average of 23 MWh of electricity daily. 25 of 75 turbines erected.

100% of Transmission lines completed and permanently energised .Final shipment of blades arrive in Portland. 49 of 75 turbines erected.

Completion of erection of all 75 turbines.
