    of waste in the average garbage bin in the City of Ballarat, consists of green garden waste which ended up in a regular landfill.
  • 40,000
    residents are now part of a Green Waste Service implemented by City of Ballarat this year. The initiative is part of the long-term goal to use the waste as fuel for a proposed bio energy plant.
  • 8,000 tonnes
    will now be diverted from landfill annually and trucked to Mt Wallace for composting to be processed for landscaping and agricultural purposes.
  • 6,900 tonnes
    Collected from July 2016 to end of Feb 2017.
  • 10,000 tonnes
    Collected from Jul 2016 to end of May 2017.
