Wind-Solar Hybrid System with a capacity of 10 kWp each have been installed by the Manipur government under the programme of Small Wind Energy and Hybrid System (SWES) of Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE).

villages will now access to electricity - these were selected by Manipur Renewable Energy Development Agency (MANIREDA) selected the villages after conducting wind resource assessment to the hilly sites where wind energy can be tapped for power generation.

villages include: Chawangkining, Kotlane, Dolangkhunou, Tingkai, Sankumai and Regional Potato Farm, Mao of Senapati District; Chorjeng Lunghar, Hongbei, Phungyar, Phungyar HQ of Ukhrul District; Lamdan of Churachandpur District; Lamdangmei of Tamenglong District; Tengnoupal and Tengnoupal HQ of Chandel District.
